YANGON: The number of Covid-19 positive cases has increased this week compared to the previous week, reaching 52 cases, according to the Ministry of Health. The new cases were reported in Magway Region, Yangon Region, Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Shan State.
Between June 8 and 15, a total of 285 suspected cases were tested, and 52 individuals were confirmed positive — representing a positivity rate of 2.28 per cent. No fatalities have been reported so far.
Mon State recorded the highest number of cases with 24, followed by Yangon Region with 17, Magway Region with seven, Mandalay Region with two, and one case each from Naypyitaw and Shan State.
In comparison, during the previous week (June 1 to 8), 2,154 suspected cases were tested, with 31 positive cases, reflecting a positivity rate of 1.44%.
Earlier, from May 25 to June 1, 17 positive cases were reported, all from Yangon Region.
The Ministry of Health continues to monitor the situation closely and encourages the public to follow preventive health guidelines. - Eleven Media/ANN
