PUTRAJAYA: The prosecution is expected to appeal the outcome of Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s graft charges, says Tan Sri Azam Baki.
“I was informed by the deputy public prosecutor that they will appeal to the Federal Court, if any other decision is made,” the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner said during a press conference at its headquarters on Wednesday (June 25).
He also said he felt neither happy nor upset at the outcome of any cases.
“There is nothing personal with anyone,” he added.
Earlier Wednesday, the Court of Appeal acquitted Syed Saddiq in the RM1.2mil graft case involving funds from Armada Bersatu.
A three-judge panel, chaired by Justice Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim, unanimously allowed Syed Saddiq's appeal after finding that the trial judge had committed errors warranting intervention.
