PUTRAJAYA: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman expressed hope that the truth will prevail in the Court of Appeal following a five-year wait for the verdict on his conviction and sentence related to multiple corruption charges.
Speaking to reporters at the Palace of Justice on Wednesday (June 25), he prayed that his name would be cleared as promised.
"The respected and honoured judiciary process is the best platform to clear one’s name.
"In this political space, I am just a small player, but because of your support and encouragement, I am able to be strong in facing all the challenges ahead.

"I am indebted to my parents and family who have always encouraged me, including all the party leadership and friends who have travelled far, some virtually with their prayers and wishes," said the former Youth and Sports Minister.
Clad in a black suit, Syed Saddiq also expressed gratitude to those who have recited Surah Yassiin via social media for him in the past couple of days as prayers for his case.
When asked about the possibility of an unfavourable verdict, he said it was best for the judge to decide on the matter.
